Conservatories
Building Regulations Approval is not required provided the floor area does not exceed 15sqm, a new opening from the dwelling is not required and no point of the structure is less than 1m from the boundary of the residential curtilage.
The glazing must have a WER of Class C or above and appropriate safety glazing must be installed. The maximum span of roof members must not exceed 4m.
Where replacing the roof on a conservatory where it is larger than 15sqm, Building Regulations approval is required .
